For all of our students, Hackley life continues off campus. Utilizing resources that span from New York City to China, we strive to enrich the educational experiences of both our students and faculty by looking beyond our community to build the lasting bonds of friendship that come from living, traveling, and learning together.

All of our students take advantage of New York City. Lower School students visit Ellis Island and the Tenement Museum, Middle School students experience the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Opera, and Upper School students see plays and visit art galleries in SoHo and parts of the city.

Our language classes sponsor trips to native speaking countries like France, Canada, and Spain. We maintain a student exchange program with a school in France. And our school athletic teams travel across the country to compete.

In addition to these programs, since 2001 the Casten Travel Program has provided a singularly unique opportunity for our students and faculty. The Casten trips feature a student to faculty ratio limited to two students per each faculty member that allows faculty and students to experience educational journeys to countries like China, Greece, Italy, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Russia. These experiences allow our students and faculty to get to know one another in the unique way that only happens when people travel together to foreign lands.
