From the Lower School Director

Welcome to the Hackley Lower School. We are a learning community where each member – students, faculty and parents – is committed to thinking, growing and inquiring and where learning is a way of life as well as a process. This particular section of Hackley’s website is dedicated to providing information regarding our philosophy, programs, events and organizational protocols.

As you explore the Lower School, you will discover a cheerful, spirited division of approximately 200 children in grades Kindergarten through Four. Our learning environment offers an atmosphere in which children go out of their way to help other children. Acceptance and a cooperative spirit are two important virtues imbedded in our overall curriculum. A humanistic and child-centered educational philosophy is firmly in place. Along with a vigorous, comprehensive curriculum, we offer an array of special interests programs during and “after school.”

We welcome our parents as true partners in the educational experience of their children. Parent collaboration makes for more continuity and directly improves the opportunity for success.

Together, we ensure the continuing development of children. Please share your thoughts and comments as to what you would like to know about the Lower School.

Sincerely yours,

Ronald A. DelMoro
