With a rigorous curriculum and enriching extracurricular activities, Hackley Middle School (Grades 5-8) prepares students for the educational challenges and opportunities to come. We go to great lengths to take advantage of our students’ growing maturity by emphasizing not only academics and character issues but also matters of self-esteem and personal responsibility. Small class sizes help to cement learning and friendships, while field trips, after-school activities, team sports, community service projects and social events also foster intellectual and social growth.
Each grade has its own hallway in the Middle School with dedicated classrooms for core subjects and space for social gathering. Grades 5 and 6 meet in homeroom-based classes, while Grades 7 and 8 have individually scheduled classes. Grades 7 and 8 also have a longer day, as they begin participation in competitive sports.
