Welcome to the Hackley School

College Counseling Pages

Almost all Hackley graduates attend a four-year college or university in the fall following graduation from Hackley. The primary goals of the College Counseling Office are to introduce our students to their collegiate options, to help them make good decisions, and to support them during the college search and application process. While many of our students attend the most selective colleges in the nation, we believe that it is much more important that students find schools that "fit" them – schools where they are most likely to meet their full potential academically and personally.

The office provides information and advice to families through college nights, weekly student information sessions (with second-semester juniors and first-semester seniors), and a variety of mailings and publications. Students and their parents are invited to schedule meetings with their college counselor in late winter of junior year. Students may meet with their college counselor as often as they like thereafter, with or without their parents, until they graduate. The College Counseling Office is staffed with three college counselors: Peter Latson, Julie Lillis, and Jean Nadell.
