ISRP Senior Wins 1st Place at State and Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposiums

On Feb. 28 and 29, Katherine Chen ’24 presented her investigation on evading natural immunity to better deliver therapeutics for genetic diseases at the state level Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.

The work Katherine presented represents two years of research in the Independent Science Research Program.

She qualified for the state level symposium on Jan. 20 by placing first in her room at the regional Westchester-Rockland Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, in which more than 250 students from around the region participated. Katherine again won first place in her room at the state level symposium! Her project was one of the top five (out of 43) in the state, and she earned a spot to present a poster at the National Symposium from May 1 to 4.

Stay tuned in May for the exciting conclusion to this story arc!
