 | Hackley’s interscholastic athletics program is a component of the health and physical education curriculum and therefore an integral part of the school’s overall educational mission. The athletics program provides a value-building experience in which students strive for physical and mental excellence. The program is also vitally important to the spirit of the school and the community.
It is the nature of athletic competition to strive for victory. However, the number of victories is only one criterion when determining a season’s success. Our coaching staff teaches student-athletes to prepare their minds and bodies in order for their teams to reach maximum potential, and then to be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
Everyone involved in the athletics program possesses a unique opportunity to teach positive life skills. Our highly qualified coaches help students develop the desire, dedication and self-discipline needed to ensure the commitment and personal sacrifice required by athletes. Making such a commitment helps to nurture integrity, pride, loyalty and overall character. Our long-term goal is to see Hackley students carry these values throughout their lives.

understanding of our young men and women to the playing field. These
coaches teach Hackley student-athletes the life lessons of passion and
sportsmanship that linger long after graduation..

average of 20% of students from each graduating class receive the
prestigious 3 x 4 award for participating in three sports a year for
all four years of high school.
