On Monday, May 24th, UNITY hosted it's annual end-of-the-year BBQ on the Quad. As we feasted on delicious ribs and tasty ice cream, the students reminisced about the year gone by. We celebrated our trip to see "Platanos and Collard Greens" in the fall, our thought-provoking and sometimes controversial multicultural dinners, our powerful speakers like Ilyasah Shabazz, Vincent Brown and Mayda del Valle, the coming together of GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) and UNITY for Diversity Month and our hosting Westchester's first DAIS conference. We said goodbye to our beloved Seniors with "UNITY Class of 2010" T-shirts and introduced our club officers for next year: Metika Ngbokoli, Greg Tavarez, Ariana Lavelli, Sojourner Elleby, Kristen Fallon and Joshua Terry. Members of the BAC (Black Alumni Council) also attended to share the food and fun with UNITY. -Emily DeMarchena, Faculty Advisor.
