Hackley was founded in 1899 by Mrs. Frances Hackley, described by the New York Times as “one of the best known philanthropists in the country.” From a small boys’ secondary boarding school to a pre-eminent co-educational day school, Hackley’s ideal has remained constant: an inclusive, supportive place with inspirational teachers and coaches.
Hackley's Mission is to challenge "students to grow in character, scholarship and accomplishment, to offer unreserved effort, and to learn from the varying perspectives and backgrounds in our community and the world." A Hackley education is grounded in ethics, character, and the ability to think critically. The Annual Fund makes our great school possible, and we are grateful to you for your support.
