About Hackley
Parents at Hackley
Ask a Hackley student what he or she considers the most significant contribution of parents to Hackley, and the most likely answer will be “The Tuck Shop.” This snack bar hideaway and student gathering spot is cheerfully staffed throughout the day by Hackley parents.

Hackley provides many opportunities for parent involvement. The Hackley Parents’ Association (HPA) is a volunteer organization whose goal is to promote mutual understanding and cooperation by offering the opportunity for parents, faculty, students, administrators, and trustees to exchange ideas and work together to serve the School’s best interests. The HPA enriches the community with an array of activities including a Book Fair, Spring Fair, Pot Luck Dinners, and Grandparents Day.

New families are welcomed through the New Families Committee of the HPA. The committee arranges a welcome for each new family by appointing a host family and organizing a New Parents’ Dinner in the fall.

Hackley relies on financial contributions as well as volunteerism to sustain its fine academic, athletic, arts, and financial aid programs. Parents are active in supporting the school’s Annual Fund and are encouraged to make the most generous gift their family can offer. This may mean different levels of support from each family, but the common bond for all is the statement of commitment to the community we build together.

Whether watching student performances and games, sharing their heritage, or joining in community celebrations, Hackley parents strengthen moral and social education for all our students and add to the warmth and inclusiveness of this good place.
