About Hackley
About our Alumni/ae
Just as there is no “typical” Hackley student, there is no typical Hackley alumnus/a, yet our alums are unified in appreciation of certain core values. They are curious, committed, and passionate about what they do. At Hackley, they worked hard, they learned to write well, they made great friends, and enjoyed the partnership of teammates, classmates and fellow performers.

From its roots as an all-boys boarding school that attracted boys from all over the United States and around the world to its current identity as a co-educational day and boarding school, Hackley has drawn motivated, interested students from a wide range of philosophical, geographical, economic, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

The phrase carved over the entrance door, “Enter Here to Be and Find a Friend,” resonates among alums across the decades and generations of our more than 100-year history. Hackley alumni return to Hackley as teachers and guest lecturers; they come back for reunions and they support the school financially. Our alums are also eager to support fellow alumni/ae, and volunteer as mentors and career contacts.
Our alumni community includes journalists, authors, painters, opera singers, educators, doctors, leaders in the finance world, peace corps volunteers, film makers, and more. A number of alums play leadership roles at Wall Street firms while others work as hedge fund or portfolio managers. Among our alumni are leaders of major industrial and business concerns as well.
