Hackley Upper School Debate Victorious Again
Upper School Debate continued to rumble at Scarsdale, February 7th and 8th. George W. and Karina F. repeated their speaker award performance from last week – only this time at an even higher level, Varsity Public Forum,at the Scarsdale Invitational. They and two Novice teams went 3-2 in rounds, and George and Karina "broke" to elimination rounds earning them a full qualification to the State tournament in March.

George W. and Karina F. repeated their speaker award performance from last week – only this time at an even higher level, Varsity Public Forum,at the Scarsdale Invitational. They and two Novice teams went 3-2 in rounds, and George and Karina "broke" to elimination rounds after winning against teams from Bronx Science, Byram Hills and Trinity, earning them a full qualification to the State tournament in March. Owen F., Neil S., Seth T. and Connor W. defeated teams from Bronx Science, McLean (VA) and Regis, and just missed breaking to outrounds. Seniors Camille S. & Rafael G. rounded out the team's work debating the Supreme Court's recent decision on the Voting Rights Act. Senior Andrew M. judged many rounds including breaking rounds, serving the team and Debate, admirably.
