Great College Admissions and Financial Aid Links

These are recommended sites. We’ve only listed a few because we’re picky! Colleges’ own web sites are easily searched for with a search engine, so we haven’t listed any here.

collegeboard.com
This site has all sorts of helpful information:
  • SAT /SAT Subject Test information
  • AP information
  • Financial aid information (including a very useful financial aid eligibility calculator, under "parents and students" then "services").
  • Profile information (The Profile is a widely used institutional financial aid application form created by the College Board.)

commonapp.org

This is the home page for the Common Application, an application form accepted by more than 300 selective colleges. Using the Common Application is a great time-saver. You can download the form from this site, or you can fill it out right online. Make sure the form is for the current school year. (eg.: the class of ’08 should use the "2007-2008" form.)

fastweb.com

A great scholarship search site! Enter your particulars, and they will match you up with appropriate scholarships from their database of several hundred thousand scholarships!

finaid.org

This site has wonderful information on financial aid, scholarships and the like.

nacac.com

This is the home page of the National Association for College Admission Counseling. While this site is designed primarily for professional counselors, the "Students and Parents" section has the statement of "Students’ Rights and Responsibilities in the College Admission Process."
