Run off elections for the 2005-2006 Community Council are in progress! We look forward to announcing the new Council soon. Our thanks to all who have served so well this year.
Community Council represents the student body, meeting regularly to discuss student matters and to organize school events, such as dances, talent shows, and community service projects. Each class elects officers to the Community Council who attend all meetings, which are open to any student who wishes to attend.
Community Council regularly posts notices throughout the school advertising events, soliciting student comments, and inviting student participation. Community Council officers meet regularly with the Division Heads. the Headmaster and with the Hackley Parents' Association.
Officers for the following year's Community Council are elected in the spring.
Student members of the Board of Magistrates, an elected facuty and student body which hears disciplinary cases, also sit on the Community Council.
Community Council is advised by two faculty members. For the 2004-05 year, these advisors are Jennifer Ward and Charles Edwards.
Community Council meets every Monday evening in the Kaskel Library. Council members are welocme to have dinner in the Dining Hall prior to the meeting.
