About Michael C. Wirtz

Mr. Wirtz came to Hackley from St. Mark’s School in Southborough, MA where he served as Assistant Head of School/Dean of Faculty for 6 years. In this role, he provided strategic advice to the Head of School, and served as Acting Head for the first half of the 2013-14 academic year. Mr. Wirtz also led St. Mark’s STEM education initiative, resulting in the creation of programs, curricula, and the design of a new facility. Prior to St. Mark's, Mr. Wirtz taught at Concord Academy in Concord, MA for 9 years. During this tenure, he served as a chemistry teacher, Science Department Chair, house parent, advisor, and coach. Mr. Wirtz began his teaching career at The Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, AL after transitioning to education from a research position at Pfizer, Inc.

Bodie Brizendine – Bodie joined RG175 after 15 years as Head of The Spence School in New York, preceded by 11 years as Head of Marin Academy in California. Prior to that she held teaching and administrative positions at San Francisco University High School and Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore. She has served as an officer of numerous national and regional educational organizations including School Year Abroad, A Better Chance, the New York Association of Independent Schools, and was President of The Country Day School Headmasters Association. Throughout her career she always kept one foot in the classroom as an English teacher.

Tom Hudnut – Tom is the senior member of RG175, having completed more than 45 Head of School searches during his decade as a consultant. He was a Head himself for 36 years, the final 26 at Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. He served on numerous boards including ones in health care, higher education, music, and civic engagement. He was President of both the Country Day School Headmasters Association and The Headmasters Association in addition to chairing the boards of Semester at Sea and The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.
