Dear Hackley Community,

As an update, we are delighted to report our consultants have received an “avalanche” of interest from candidates seeking to be Hackley’s next Head of School. The candidates thus far include sitting heads, former and interim heads, assistant, associate, and division heads, enrollment managers, and admission directors. The candidates are diverse in gender, ethnicity, and geography. The consultants expect more candidates between now and the end of January. We are pleased, but not surprised, at the level of interest in the position.

The timeline remains the same. The Search Committee will fully discuss the dossiers of the leading candidates on February 11 and select the semifinalist candidates. The Committee will interview those candidates in March and select the finalists. The finalists will visit campus and meet the Hackley community in April. During the finalists’ visits to campus, there will be community-wide meetings as well as specific sessions with trustees, administrators, and advisory groups of both faculty and parents.

We want to thank the community for completing the survey from the consultants. Bodie and Tom asked us to share themes which emerged from the feedback on elements most desired in the next Head. Their “Themes” document is available here.
