At this time, we are only able to consider new 19-20 applications for students entering Kindergarten and Grade 2.

To apply to K or Grade 2, please begin by contacting Meghan O'Callaghan at 914-366-2610.


If you would like to submit a late application for any other grade for the 19-20 school year, please contact the Admissions Office at (914) 366-2642.  If you have started an application but have not yet submitted it, we would also ask that you contact our office.

  • When you begin the Online Application...

    When you click the application link (above), you'll be taken to a login screen.  At the bottom of the login box you'll see a link that reads "Create an Account" - click this.  This will bring up a screen that simply asks you for your email address (NOTE:  please enter your most-used email address, as this will be the way the application system and we at Hackley communicate with you about your application).

    Once you've entered it, you'll receive an email with an activation link in it.  Clicking this will bring you to a page where you can create your password (to be used with your initial email for future logins) and you can begin filling out an application for your son or daughter.

    If you do not receive the activation email, please check your spam or junk email folder.  If 15 minutes passes and you still have not received it, please contact the admissions office (914-366-2642) so that we may activate your account for you.
  • You don’t need to complete the online application all in one sitting!

    Once you’ve created your account, bookmark the login screen. As you fill out the application, you’ll see that you can periodically save your work. If you need to stop and come back to it, even a few days later, that’s just fine. Simply log in again and pick up where you left off.
  • You’ll be able to pay the application fee online as well.

    At the end, you’ll come to a secure, encrypted page where you can make a credit-card payment for the fee. If you will be applying for financial aid and would like to a fee waiver, please know that eligibility for the waivers is based on demonstrated household income; interested families will be asked to provide income documentation. Requests for an application fee waiver should be received no later than 5:00 PM on the date of the application deadline. If you have questions about the waiver system, please email Kimberly Cummings, our Financial Aid Coordinator/Database Manager, at fa@hackleyschool.org.
  • Once your application is submitted, please contact us to set up your interview.

    Please contact us (914-366-2642 or admissions@hackleyschool.org) to set up your interviews, evaluations and class visits, as appropriate. Please bear in mind that for Grades 5-12, the applicant’s interests and achievements section and the student essay must be submitted in order for a student to interview.
  • Be sure to print the supporting paperwork you will need!

    You will find a PDF of the Release of Information form on our Application Requirements pages, in the right-hand margins.  Please print this form, sign it, and submit it to the registrar or other appropriate office at your child's current school.

    Please note:  families completing online applications will be required to submit online recommendations as well; we will send an email with a link to the online form in early November.
  • Be on the lookout for an email in early November about submitting your online recommendations!

    If you complete an online application, near the start of November you will receive an email from us with information about submitting the online recommendations required for your child's application.  Please note that these recommendations will be accessed through your existing application account - there, once you log in, you will see a checklist of items to be completed for your child's application.  On the right-hand side you will see a link labelled "Instructions."  In November, these links will change to say, "Request Recommendation."  At that time, please click the link and follow the instructions to send the online forms to the appropriate teachers.

  • With a Hackley Application Account, you can log in throughout the admissions process to use our “Admissions Tracker.”

    This allows you to see when other pieces of the application, like transcripts and teacher recommendations, have arrived, and saves you the bother of a phone call.

Application Fee Waivers

If you would like to request a need-based waiver for our application fee, please contact Kim Cummings (fa@hackleyschool.org) in our office for instructions on how to apply. Hackley does not offer a fee waiver for the evaluation fee required for Kindergarten and 1st grade applicants. The deadline to apply for the application fee waiver is Friday, November 23rd at 3:00 PM, 


PLEASE NOTE:  If you do not qualify for a fee waiver, this should not be taken as an indication of your eligibility to qualify for a financial aid award, as the two application processes are entirely separate.
