The Hackley Alumni Association (“HAA”) has about 4,500 members and an active Board of Directors. The purpose of the HAA and its Board of Directors is to support Hackley School and its mission. The HAA has its own endowment, funded by contributions from alumni, and each year makes grants to Hackley. This year’s HAA Officers are: Christie A. Philbrick-Wheaton-Galvin ’00, President, Sallyann E. Parker Nichols ’87, Vice President, Daniel E. Rifkin ’89, Treasurer, and Timothy L. Kubarych ’06, Secretary.
Each year, on Alumni Day, the HAA holds its Annual Meeting where, among other things, a new slate of Alumni Board candidates are elected by alumni. Alumni Board members are usually selected among active volunteers, based on specific needs of the Board. In order to elect the new slate, a quorum of 100 is necessary. A quorum is the minimum number of HAA members necessary to be present, either by proxy or in person, for the votes in the meeting to be valid. The HAA requires a quorum of 100 for its Annual Meeting.
To ensure a quorum of 100 is reached, you can submit a proxy form, giving authority to a specific board member to vote on your behalf at the Annual Meeting. When you complete the proxy form online, you give permission to the proxy to cast a vote on your behalf, in the event you cannot be present at the meeting. Submitting the proxy will not prevent you from exercising your vote in person should you decide to attend the Annual Meeting.
