Girls Soccer off to Strong Start

Hackley Girls Varsity Soccer Team has had a great start to the Fall 2017 season going 3-0 in their first three contests.
The team has showed fortitude and resilience in bringing home three solid wins to start the season. In the first game of the season, the team was down for the majority of the game. Despite the deficit, they rallied back with a two goal effort from Carolyn Santangelo ’18 that ultimately resulted in a 3-2 win in overtime. The Hornets outclassed Scarsdale in their second game winning easily 5-0. Playing rival Riverdale at the Fall Sting proved to be another tight contest. The girls found themselves down 1-0 early and ultimately tied the game. The second half of the game was very even until Sophia Thomas ’21 found Annabel Ives ‘20 on a cross that put the Hornets ahead for good. The coaches and players have worked hard and been rewarded with this excellent start.

Next up for the girls will be a conference game against Trinity on the road on Sept. 19th at 4:30 PM. The game will be played at Randall’s Island field #84.
