Hackley Boys Soccer: Moving Forward!
Beginning on October 4th with a 3-0 win over Fieldston, the Boys soccer team has recorded four straight wins to even up their record at 5-5-1. This moved them into third place in the league going into the second half of the season. The Fieldston win was followed by a 2-1 victory over Dalton. (Read on for more season updates.)
It was a dramatic come-from-behind win in which co-captain Matt Braver ‘19 scored the winning goal in the last five minutes of the contest. Next came an overtime road win over Collegiate, avenging an earlier 4-3 loss. Subsequently, the team defeated Horace Mann 2-0.
During this streak Matt Braver has scored six goals and Andrew Tang ’19 has notched three goals and three assists. Patrick Schulman ’20 has recorded four shutouts this season, three in the four game win streak. Co-captain Ian Jacobson ’18 has been a standout on defense the entire season and his leadership has helped the young team mature quickly to become very competitive in a short span of time.
