Hackley Fencers Shine Across the Board
The Hackley Fencing Teams had an excellent season with five of six squads medaling in the ISFL final season standings, and capturing nine individual medals.
The girl’s epee squad won the league title with a 13-3 record. The girls saber squad took second place with a 12-2 record. The girls foil squad took third place with a 10-6 record.
The boy’s epee squad took second place with an 11-3 record. The boy’s foil squad took third with an 8-6 record. The boy’s saber squad took fourth with a 6-6.
Our combined team record was 13-3. The girl’ team went 14-2 with a squad record of 35-11. The boy’s team went 10-4 with a squad record of 25-15.
The boy’s epee squad took second place with an 11-3 record. The boy’s foil squad took third with an 8-6 record. The boy’s saber squad took fourth with a 6-6.

At The ISFL Team Tournament Hackley fencers brought home gold in Girl’s Saber, Silver in Girl’s Epee and Bronze in Boy’s Foil.
Tyler LaRoche ’18 lead the girl’s team with a 36-3 record with an 86% win percentage.
Sam Perlman ’20 led the boys team with a 24-11 record with a 69% win percentage.

At the ISFL Individual Championships Hackley had nine fencers medal:
• Charles Dewey ’21 earned gold as the Epee Champion.
• Sam Perlman ’20 took home bronze in boy’s epee.
• Zaya Gooding ’19 took home silver in girl’s epee.
• Raghav Chopra ’19 took home bronze in boy’s saber.
• Tyler LaRoche ’18 came in 7th place in girl’s epee.
• Anna Sellon ’19 came in 5th in girl’s foil.
• Jack Chen ’19 placed 7th in boy’s saber.
• Hanna Mark ’18 placed 6th in girl’s saber
• Rebecca Steinberg ’20 placed 7th in girl’s saber.

The ISFL Fencer’s Fencer Awards for most outstanding sportspersons went to Sam Perlman for the second year in a row.
