It's All About the Team!

For Hackley Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach Chris Arnold, every win or loss his teams achieves is part of the fabric of something larger: a commitment of players working together to bring unreserved effort to their game.  Ask Coach Arnold where he stands in career wins and losses, he couldn't tell you. He didn't keep track. Read on.
But shortly after the team won the first league competition of his 15th season as head coach, a family member asked, "How many wins does that make?" So he went back and checked.

That win, on Friday, April 6th, Hackley vs. Horace Mann, was in fact Coach Arnold's 200th career win.

Chris Arnold came to Hackley in 1994 as an English teacher and member of the coaching staff.  He assumed the position of Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team in 2003, and has shaped countless lives in the great game he loves. For many years, he was also a member of the Boys Varsity Soccer coaching staff, and was a well-respected dean in the Upper School.  He currently also serves as Assistant Director of the Upper School.

With the creation of the NYSAIS Championship in Spring 2009, Hackley Boys Varsity Lacrosse has been a consistent presence in the tournament, and has finished either first or second in each of the last five tournaments. Prior to 2009, Coach Arnold led the team to two Metropolitan Tournament Championsips, competing against the best NYC private, parochial and public schools.  In addition, Hackley Boys' Lacrosse has won seven of the last eight league championships.

Congratulations, Coach Arnold -- and best wishes for the season ahead!
