Athletes of the Week, 4/23
Ismene Germanakos ’19, Anthony Johnson ’19, and Bridget Barsanti ’18 earned Athlete of the Week honors this week.
Ismene Germanakos ’19 broke the school record in Javelin throw on Tuesday at our Ivy Meet. She threw 95' 8" breaking the previous record held by Sarah Johnston ’05 who threw 91' 6". Ismene is a three sport athlete for Hackley who plays soccer, basketball and runs track and field for us.
Anthony Johnson ’19 has had the tough task of taking over the number one spot on the boys’ tennis team this season. In his last two matches Anthony has gone 2-0 to help lead the team to their first two victories of the season.
Bridget Barsanti ’18 has distinguished herself on the field through her speed and feistiness. In the North Shore game where we struggled to gain momentum and get ourselves started, Bridget came up with four big draw controls and several ground ball possessions that propelled us and gave us a spark on the field. She is a consistent spark in the midfield and on our defense in particular. Bridget will win the 3x4 Award this year for playing Soccer, Indoor track and Lacrosse all four years on the hilltop.
