Hackley Varsity Softball

Led by junior strike out record holder Dana Van Buren, who has 486 strike outs in her career, the team made it to the finals of NYSAIS, a first for the team since 2001. Offensively, All Ivy catcher Abby Schiller ’21 boasted the highest batting average on the team this season at .577 with 36 RBIs, 10 doubles, four triples and four home runs--a truly impressive feat. The team played well all season to post an 11-5 record. While losing the championship game was disappointing, there is a great deal to look forward to as the team will see the departure of just one senior captain, Carly Griffen-Fiorella, who has played for the team since her freshman year.
