The 2018 season baseball season started on a positive note with a walk off win against Horace Mann in the season opener. Read on.

Then it seemed the Hornets were hit with the injury bug that would last the entire season. Although the team persevered and was in every game the result of these injuries were JV players coming up and pitching in one of the most competitive leagues in the area. The pitching staff was led by freshman Alex Kalapoutis, who won two of the team’s three wins. Alex pitched 30 innings, had 28 K’s and a 4.9 era. Offensively, Junior Peter Clyne led the team in batting average with a .353 with 12 hits including four doubles. The youth of this program will only pay dividends as the team received invaluable experience this season, and returns all but two players next year, setting them up with formidable tools for the 2019 season.
