Hackley MS Debaters Rise to the Occasion at NJ tournament
On Saturday, October 20th, nine Hackley Middle School debaters traveled to the Stone Bridge MS in Allentown NJ to compete in the 1st MSPDP Garden State Debate league tournament of the season.
Hackley’s three teams did exceptionally well, winning 11 out of their 12 debates. The 8th grade team Mason N., Zara Y., and Amy K. were the top ranked team out of 46 entries, 7th graders Sam S., Spencer O., and Aniketh A. earned 5th place, and Robbie G., Harper K., and Jad B. were 6th. Jad was the 3rd ranked speaker overall and Harper, Amy, and Zara were the 5th through 7th ranked speakers out of a total of 135 competitors.

Hackley won the school tournament award with a 91% winning record.All in all, it was one of the most impressive showings for any Hackley MS debate team in recent years-- congratulations to all!
