Kristie's pieces in Atmospheric Works are pulp paintings on handmade paper. Pulp paint is finely ground paper that's been pigmented and behaves like a paint wash. She then adds the pulp paint on top of a handmade paper base sheet while it's still wet. She makes all of her materials from scratch in her studio at DC Arts Studios in Washington, DC.
