Acting out Aesop's Fables

Hackley second graders have been immersed in Aesop’s fables, reading and acting out many of the engaging stories.

Second grader teacher Michelle Foerder reports, "We learned about the structure of fables and common elements used, such as personification. Each child selected a moral that they felt was important to teach the world and then completed the writing process."

Here’s a look at their insightful morals:

Moral: Stand up for yourself.
Moral: Believe in your dreams!
Moral: Be generous.
Moral: Don’t step into someone else’s shadow.
Moral: Believe in yourself.
Moral: Don’t brag or you will have no friends.
Moral: Be careful what you wish for.
Moral: Treat people kindly so they treat you the same.
Moral: Think before you speak.
Moral: Even when people are different, they can still be friends.
Moral: Always try new things.
Moral: Be a good sport.
Moral: Don’t judge people by their size.
Moral: Two wrongs don’t make a right.
Moral: Together is better.
