Lego Sumo Robotics Tournament on 11/17

Hackley School hosted 37 students from three schools (Hackley School, The Long Ridge School and Greenwich Country Day School) in a Lego ‘SumoBot’ robotics tournament on 11/17.
Students built and programmed Lego robots to try and push their opponent out of a battle zone. It was a great morning, full of excitement, Lego carnage and non-stop problem solving. Students were helpful to each other and the atmosphere was positive as well as competitive.
Hackley performed well in the tournament, led by the robot created by 6th graders Sam S and Lucas V, which came in 2nd and 1st place in the programming and remote-control tournaments respectively. Thanks to the upper school students Isabella B, Sophia R, Sam P and Elizabeth H for helping as referees for the tournament
