Boys Fencing Sits Atop Standings at Season Midpoint
The Boys Fencing Team has had a terrific start to the season with strength across all disciplines, with undefeated Foil and Epee teams sitting in first place, and the Saber team in second place.
On Friday Hackley fencers faced a very good Riverdale team.
The Foil team led by Max Bryant ’21, Max Calman ’22, Maxwel Lee ’22, and Alex Kirchgaessner ’21 continued their winning ways with a dominating 8-1 victory.
The Epee team, led by greater New York standout Josh Zhang ’19 as well as teammates James DeStefano ’20, Sam Perlman ‘20 and Henry Beyrich ’22, won their match 5-4, lifting their record to 9-0 on the season.
The Saber team took a 2-5 loss to Riverdale but still sits in second place in the league. Jack Chen ’19, Nicky Wind ’22, Anthony Johnson ‘19, Raghav Chopra ’19, Sid Shah ’22, and Arjan Sandhu ‘23 have all been key to the Saber team’s success this season.
