Learning from the Pros

Last week, Hackley squash players took advantage of the opportunity to see some of the world's top professional squash players compete at Grand Central Station.
Varsity Squash coach Adrian Grant observed,“It was a great day out and students really enjoyed watching the fast paced action which happened on an all glass court. We watched a women and mens match which involved world no.1’s, world and national champions from England, Egypt, India and New Zealand. The tournament MC even made an announcement of Hackley’s presence to the spectators which was amazing!"  The Hackley students met Diego Elias, squash pro from Peru, who is currently ranked 11 in the world who, though only 22 years old, is widely considered to be on a trajectory toward #1 in the world. Coach Grant hopes the trip inspires Hackley's varsity squash players as they head to the high school nationals on February 1st through third in Connecticut.
