Athletes of the Week, 1/28

Athletes of the Week for the week of Jan. 28 are Jordan Wade ’19 (Girls Basketball), Zaya Gooding ’19 (Fencing), Joshua Zhang ’19 (Fencing) and Nicky Wind ’22 (Fencing).

Jordan averaged 16 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.3 assistants and 3 steals over the past week. In addition to her excellent play recently, she also became the 10th player in the history of the school to score 1000 career points in girls basketball.
Zaya is the first Epee Individual Champion for the Hornets. Zaya has been an individual standout all season long while also providing strong leadership putting her team in great position to win the league title.
Josh is perhaps the best Epee fencer in the tristate area, and he proved it on his way to ISFL Individual title. This is the second title for Josh at Hackley School.
In his first year fencing, Nicky won the Boys Saber Individual title at the ISFL Individual Championships. This was quite an accomplishment for a freshman competing against much older and more experienced competitors.
