Youth Movement Takes Charge of Hackley Wrestling

The Hackley Wrestling had an impressive season as young stars broke through and the team went 5-3 on the year with a 3rd place finish in the Ivy Prep League, and a 4th place finish at the NYSAIS Championships.

Among the other highlights, the team had dual meet wins against rivals Trinity, Dalton, Lexington, Rye Country Day, and Collegiate, and won the Lexington Tournament in December. Senior captain Jack Kneisley was voted Most Outstanding Wrestler at the Woodlands Tournament where he was 5-0 on the day. Robert Horan ’21 won the prestigious Westchester County Championships at the 113lbs weight class. Hackley also crowned three Ivy Prep Champs in Robert Horan ’21, Tyler Wyman ’21 and Jack Bosco ’20. At NYSAIS, the same three wrestlers took home weight-class titles. Lara Schechter ’21 placed 2nd at the New York Girl State Championships and Hadassah Henderson ’21 place 3rd. Senior captain Jack Kneisley, Jack Bosco, Robert Horan and Tyler Wyman each had 25 wins on the season and received bids to wrestle at New York Federations in Albany on February 22 & 23.
