Off to the Zoo!

On April 8, the AFER trip took their annual trip to the Bronx Zoo to take a class on predators and prey.
They were greeted by Alyssa from the education center. She brought out the three-banded armadillo for the class to examine and look at his adaptations. After that they looked at skulls of other animals to determine where they fit in. The students wowed their teacher by accurately identifying many of the skulls examined from cheetahs to constrictors. They were then treated to Ricky the Fennec fox. Aftwards, they walked though exhibits looking at adaptations for both predators and prey, enjoying the beautiful spring day which drew many of the animals outside for the first time of the season and were very active.
