Athletes of the Week

Dana Van Buren, Ameera Shaban, Jordan Johnson, Leah Holmes, and Henry Jones have earned Athlete of the Week honors for their performance in last week's games
  • Dana Van Buren ’19: Dana had a stellar start to the 2019 Softball season. In the first four contests of the season Dana has not allowed an earned run. Against rival Riverdale, Dana pitched a perfect game. Through 4 games this season, Dana has averaged 17 strike out per game.
  • Ameera Shaban ‘22: Ameera placed 1st in the 200m and second in the 100m at the first league Track and Field meet of the season. She has continued to grow and as a freshman will be a presence in the sprints this season.
  • Jordan Johnson ’21: Jordan had an unprecedented start to his track career. He placed 4th in shot put, but even more impressive, he placed 1st in javelin, out throwing the next strongest competitor by over 30 feet.
  • Leah Holmes ‘20: Leah has scored 21 goals and has 7 assists in four lacrosse games this week—including 7 goals in both last Monday’s OT loss to RCDS and today’s loss to GA. In today’s game, she was a part of 10 of Hackley’s 12 goals. Leah is also leading the team in draw controls. She is a dominant player all over the field.
  • Henry Jones ’19: Henry has been great defensively in the first four lacrosse games of the season which a big reason for their 4-0 start. Henry also substitutes offensively and had the game tying assist and game winning goal in Hackley’s come from behind win against Riverdale.
Leah Holmes ‘20:  Leah has scored 21 goals and has 7 assists in four games this week—including 7 goals in both last Monday’s OT loss to RCDS and today’s loss to GA.
