Athletes of the Week, 5/6

Athletes of the Week for the week of May 6th are Josh Saha ‘19 (Track & Field), Julia Thomson ’20 (Girls Lacrosse), Abbey Schiller ’21 (Softball) and Patrick Wertimer ’19 (Boys Lacrosse).

Josh broke the Hackley 400 meter hurdle record previously held by Ian Parnell ’13. Josh’s run of 56.84 beat Parnell’s record by almost a full second.
In three contest last week Julia had 8 goals, 5 assists to help secure three wins for the Girls Lacrosse Team. Playing midfield, Julia has been dominant on draw controls and a great defender for the Hornets.
Abbey has been a dominant force on the softball team all season. This past Friday Abbey had 8 RBI’s and a grand slam in a convincing win over league rival Dalton. The team currently sits at 10-1 on the season.
Patrick has been a defensive demon in the long pole position his entire career at Hackley School. This season under his leadership the Hornets defense has average just 3.8 goals against to go undefeated in league play thus far. Patrick has been a starter since his sophomore year.
