Track Athletes Win at Loucks and Rasbeck

Hackley Track and Field athletes performed well, setting new personal records and bring home championships at the Loucks games and Rasbeck Relays over the weekend of May 11-12.
Loucks Games
Josh Saha broke his own school record in the 400m hurdles finishing 7th with a time of 56.68.
Ismene Germanakos placed 6th in the Javelin with a best throw of 113’11”.
Eve Spencer ran a PR in the 2K steeplechase 6.46.5 to finish 12th overall.
Brendan DiStefano broke the school record in the 3K steeplechase with a time of 10.15.4 to finish 13th. The record was previously held by Tristan Jung 2016.
The boys Frosh/ Soph DMR placed 10th with a time of 11.21.3. (Brendan DiStefano, Andrew Davies, Will Rifkin & Jonah Gorevic)

Rasbeck Relays
Both Hackley Boys and Girls Track & Field brought home the Class B championships, competing in many cases against much larger area public schools.

Boys
  • Jonah Gorevic won the 3200 Meter Run (9:54.19), followed by David Ben-Ezra in second place (10:47.86)
  • The Boys' 4x100 m Relay finsiehd first (47.09), as did the Boys 4x200 m Relay (1:38.61). the Boys 800M Spring Medley Relay finsihed fourth (1:46.75), and teh Boys 4x400 M Relay finsiehd fourth (3:56.72).  The Boys 4x800 M Relay finsiehd second (9:20.47).  Boys Distance Medley Relay finished third (11:39.03)
  • Charles Segal finished first in the Long Jump (19-05.50), followed by Tahryam Toure in third (18-03.50). Charles Segal also finished first in the Triple Jump (37-07.00), followed by Michael Abbey in fourth (35-03.50).
  • In Discus, Sam Perlman finsied second (98-10.00) and Jordan Johnson in third (97-04.00).  Jordan Johnson finished first in Shot Put (43-02.50) followed by Sam Perlman in second (41-03.00)
Girls
  • Ava Roberts finished second in the 3000 M run (11:59.74) followed by Molly Rosenthal in second (12:13.38)
  • the Girls 4x100 M Relay finished first (51.93), as did the 4x200 M Relay (1:52.66).  The 800 M Spring Medley Relay finnished second (2:01.41), and the 4x400 M Relay finished third (4:42.49). The 4x800 M Relay finished 2nd (10:42.27), and the Distance Medley Relay came in second (13:42.58).
  • Zoe Naughton won the High Jump event (5-00.00), with Emily Afriyie coming in 6th (4-02.00).
  • Jasmyn Phillips finished first in the Long Jump (16-04.75), with Tajah Burgher finishing 6th (14-04.00).  Kiara Abbey (34-01.00) and Zoe Naughton (32-07.00) finished second and third, respectively, in the Triple Jump.
  • Katelyn Qu and Brooke Lopez-Ryan were the top two finishers in the Pole Vault, at 7-00.00 and 6-06.00.
  • Hadassah Henderson (78-01.00) and Katelyn Qu (69-00.00) were the top two finishers in Discus. Skyler Safriet (58-00.00) and Hadassah Henderson (57-07.00) were second and third in Javelin, and Hadassah Henderson also brought in a second place finish in Shot Put (27-07.00), followed by Brooke Lopez-Ryan in fourth (25-02.00)
