Ryan Smith ’17 Pitches for Cape Cod League

Ryan completed his first year at Boston College as a pitcher for the college’s NCAA Division 1 baseball team. BC assigned him to spend the summer playing with the Hamptons League, a collegiate league for Division One athletes. He joined the Westhampton Aviators on Long Island, and trained and played with the team through the league championship, posting a 6-1 record as pitcher, with a 2.56 ERA. Ryan pitched 2-0 in the playoffs with an ERA average of 0.90, and the team won the league championship, defeating Riverhead on July 30. With the Hamptons League season ending, Ryan was invited to join the Cape Cod League, playing for the Harwich Mariners.
