Athletes of the Week, 9/12

Jonah Gorevic ’21 (Cross Country) had an outstanding performance at the Somers Big Red Invitational. He took the lead early on and won his 5K race in 16:18.1, more than 10 seconds ahead of the competition, which beat his PR on that course by over 1 minute.

Maggie Broaddus ’20 (Tennis) had a fantastic first Ivy League match of the season against Poly on Friday 9/6. After dropping the first set to a strong opponent at #2 singles, she battled back and played an inspiring second set of tennis! Her smart play, combined with a toughness and refusal to give up, led to her an incredible comeback victory.

Conor McMahon ’20 (Football) had a great performance on Friday, 9/6, including 79 yards passing with one touchdown and 132 yard rushing with one touchdown to lead the Hornets to a decisive 36-0 victory. Conor is now 7-1 as a starter on the hilltop.

Jenny Canoni ’20 (Field Hockey) recorded her 600th save on Wednesday, September 11th, an accomplishment very few have achieved. Jenny, who was already our career saves leader on the Hilltop continues to stymie offenses with her outstanding play. Congratulations, Jenny.
