Athletes of the Week for Oct 1st are Colin Ives ’22 (Field Hockey), Sadie Nipon ’21 and Maya Miller’22 (Tennis), Josh Williams ’21 (Football) and Charlie Rudge ’21 (Cross-Country).

Colin
is the leading scorer on the field hockey team. Not only is he dominant on the offensive end of the field, but he is an integral part of the midfield and defensive end as well. To date, Colin has 19 points (5 goals and 9 assists) and a career total of 51 points (17 goals and 17 assists).

Sadie and Maya are a dominate force at first doubles in the Ivy League. Whether playing smart from the baseline, intimidating their opponents with their aggressive play at the net, or acing their opponents with their serves, this duo has a special chemistry that has them undefeated in league play this season! Recently, they beat two tough opponents in Riverdale and Horace Mann in dominating fashion, which helped HGVT remain undefeated!! Congrats to this incredible doubles team.

Josh had a great weekend helping Hackley defeat Fieldston 51-0. Defensively Josh had a fumble recovery for a touchdown and three solo tackles. Offensively, Josh had 60 yards rushing and a TD.

On one of the most difficult and hilly 5k courses in the state, Charlie ran a blistering fast time of 18:07 last Saturday at the Bowdoin Invitational. The time was over 1 minute 15 seconds faster than his time last year. His pace per mile that day was an impressive 5:50 per mile. His performance contributed greatly in Hackley placing 6th overall in a field of nearly 30 teams.
