Boys Cross Country Tops at Brown NE CC Invitational

On Saturday, October 19th, the Hackley Boys’ Cross Country team won the Division I race at the Brown Northeast Cross Country Invitational up at Goddard State Park in Rhode Island.
 

This is the first time that Hackley has won a team title at this multi-state meet. Over the 5K course, they averaged an impressive 16:22. The Hornets were led by junior Jonah Gorevic who won the entire race with the fastest time of the day, 15:27. With this result, Jonah now leads the entire state with the fastest 5K run this season. Sophomore Brendan DiStefano (16.00), junior James Spencer (16:38), junior Charlie Rudge (16:49) and junior Will Rifkin (16:58) all scored for the Hornets. In addition, senior David Ben-Ezra (17:55) and junior Andrew Davis (18:17) rounded out the top seven. This team effort earned them 1st place out of 26 scoring teams. In addition, the team is now ranked 6th best in the entire state by MileSplit. This includes public, private and all classes.
