7th and 8th Grade Art Majors’ Trip to The Met Museum

The middle school art majors took a break from their regular classes to travel to The Metropolitan Museum of Art together with their chaperones Ms. Carrier, Mr. Chin, Ms. Coble, Mr. Walters and Mr. Whitaker.

They studied and sketched from the museum’s Beaux Arts façade - now featuring contemporary artist, Wengechi Mutu’s new sculptures, Italian and Dutch Renaissance Painting, pre-Columbian sculpture, photography and many other works related to their visual arts curriculum this year. They took a walk through Central Park to experience Olmstead’s design and enjoyed lunch on the steps out front, having a classic New York City art experience.
