Pass the Gavel
On Thursday, January 2nd, Hackley US students Zach Yusaf, Zara Yusaf, Michael Lee, and Ella Rodriguez ran two separate two-hour presentations on debate at P.S. 105 in the Bronx.
Zach and Zara created Pass the Gavel, an outreach and initiative designed to spread debate to local schools throughout the tri-state area. Along with Michael and Ella, Zach and Zara conducted sample debates and activities for over 150 5th graders at P.S. 105.
Zach and Zara will be conducting future workshops along with other Hackley debaters later in the spring.
