Sharing Skills with Younger Students

During December, Hackley 8th graders learned block printing techniques in their regular art classes and created many prints of their own. They then designed a workshop to share their newfound knowledge with Hackley kindergarten students.

In their two-session workshop, they decided to use the theme of fish of the nearby Hudson River Estuary in order to also introduce the kindergartners to some of the nearby nature they want to be sure their protegees begin to value.

Connections were made between art and nature as well as among students.
