Have you ever wonder why it’s called a workout?

Dr. Ying's 9th grade physics classes went to the Fitness Center in the JCHW to do a “work"-out--investigating the physics of "work". a.k.a., the transfer of energy.

While using the center, students calculated the theoretical energy and their power output while completing a physical work out. From the data they collect, students are challenged to determine the time it would take to burn off the calories they ingest in their favorite meal from a fast food restaurant.
