Hackley Fencers Medal at ISFL Championships
The Hackley Fencing Team had thirteen medalist at the 21st Independent School Fencing League Individual Championships at Horace Mann on Saturday, Jan. 25th, including gold medals for James DiStefano ‘20 and Nicky Wind ’22. This medal count equaled the record breaking results of last season when Hackley took home 27% of the overall medals in the ten-school league.
Team results:
-In Boy’s Epee, James Distefano ‘20 took gold, Henry Beyrich ’22 tied for bronze and Sam Perlman ’20 finished 7th.
-In Boy’s Foil, Max Bryant repeated as silver medalist. Maxwel Lee ’22 tied for Bronze and Max Calman ’22 finished 6th.
-In Boy’s Saber, Nicky Wind ’22 repeated as gold medalist. 8th grader Sam Sanders ’24 took home the silver medal, Sid Shah ’22 finished 5th and Arjan Sandu’23 finished 8th
-In Girl’s Saber, freshman Julia Magliato ’23 took home the silver medal and Rebecca Steinberg ’20 won 6th place.
