Hackley Girls Varsity Squash 2019-20

The 2019- 2020 season for Girls Varsity Squash ended with a total of 12 wins and 13 loses. Captain and senior Jordan Miller led the team with great integrity, character and dedication, setting an excellent example for our future squash captains.

A few highlights included the semi-final win at NYSAIS over Brearley. Hackley was the lower seed in this match and the girls pulled out a 6 - 1 win after a loss earlier in the season to Brearley; 5 - 2. In addition, the team ended the season with a 9th place finish in Division 4 at High School Nationals, in which a total of over 96 teams competed. These matches were always played with grit, determination and one hundred percent effort. They girls proved that the hard work they continued to put in to practice paid off and they all improved their games and progressed as squash players.

Seniors Maggie Broaddus, Leah Holmes, Emma Lauerwald, Audrey Lee and Jordan Miller will all be greatly missed. Each of the seniors encapsulated what it is to be a varsity squash player and added great value to the team dynamics and culture. We wish them well on their adventures and look forward to seeing all returning players next season.
