Hackley Senior Advances to the NYAF Finals

Hackley senior Marie Wurtz ’22 is a finalist for the National Young Arts Foundation Competition. Marie made it to the national juried competition out of approximately 7,000 applicants. She will perform in a week-long virtual festival in January 2022. During that week Marie will perform in masterclasses, and participate in musical collaborations with a focus on contemporary music and bringing artists together across disciplines.

Marie has been an active member of Hackley’s Chamber Music program since she came to Hackley as a freshman. She is currently rehearsing a Schumann Piano Quintet with other Hackley music students. She is also working on an Independent Study focused on artistic expression in the context of piano performance and recital programming. She will be performing for the Hackley community during the December Chamber Ensemble Winter Concert. (Watch “About YoungArts | Classical Music”)
