Hackley Sophomores Win at the Somers Science Research Fair

On June 4, Hackley sophomores—Aniketh Arvind, Eliza Podvalny, Charlotte Feehan, NJ Roc-Sennett, and Katherine Chen—participated in the Somers Science Research Fair.

They were among 500+ other students in the area to present research proposals. All five of them won either 1st or 2nd place in their categories!

Aniketh Arvind - 1st place award in Engineering: Development of a wheel-chair mounted robotic manipulator for assisting in daily living.

- 2nd place award Medicine and Health: An immunological approach to brain metastases in HER2+ breast cancer.

Eliza
Podvalny - 1st place award in Behavior: Utilizing lesion mapping to better understand the process of memory.

Katherine
Chen- 1st place award in Cell Bio: Reducing immune responses to adeno-associated virus vectors to deliver gene therapies.

NJ
Roc-Sennett - 2nd place award in Behavior: Auditory prosody development.
