Hackley Students Make an Impact with Refugees at Hearts and Homes

On Sunday, Sept. 11, former and current members of Mrs. Washington’s Service Leadership for Social Impact course volunteered at the Hearts and Homes for Refugees Welcome Picnic for recently resettled refugee families.

Hackley student leaders spent the afternoon engaging our youngest new neighbors in table games, arts and crafts, and sports. In class, students have been exploring the complexities of the national and international conversations around human migration, refugee and asylee experiences, and the resettlement process.
