Athletes of the Week – Week of Oct. 3

Every week, we will highlight some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.

Varsity Football: Harrison Riopel ’23
Harrison had 21 carries for 181 yards and three touchdowns. He also went 7-of-9 for 71 yards and a score, and made seven tackles in a 33-7 victory over Horace Mann. It was Hackley's first football win of the season behind Harrison’s exceptional play.

Girls' Varsity Tennis: Bella Barriera ’25
This varsity tennis player has had a tremendous first month of the season. Moving from playing second doubles last year, Bella is now playing third singles, and she has met this challenge with great determination. She is a hardworking, smart, and overall excellent tennis player. Her consistent, yet aggressive, play has led her to an undefeated start to the season.

Girls' Varsity Soccer: Callie Duggan ’23
It was an exceptional week for HGVS, having scored and assisted in their non-league contest against Columbia Prep. Callie's phenomenal play continued in the team’s 4-2 victory over the reigning NYSAIS champs, as she assisted on two perfectly played corner kicks.
